CISOA provides direction to information systems professionals in California community colleges; provides for professional growth and development of association members; provides an efficient vehicle for communicating among information systems officers, other community college personnel, the Chancellor's Office and other state agencies; increases recognition of the value and necessity of information systems for effective planning and management of individual districts and the California community colleges as a whole.
CISOA meets in conference annually to provide educational seminars and educational vendor exhibits for their members and key representatives from the Chancellor's office. At their annual conference in 2005, CISOA successfully combined forces with The Research and Planning Group. CISOA and The RP Group will again collaborate at the 2006 annual conference.
